Community of Practice Rubric (30% of Your Final Grade

A (27-30 pts.)
As a fully participating member of our professional community of practice, you will:
+ regularly contribute to our ability to collaborate, learn, and learn how to learn;
+ be on time to every class with all of your materials;
+ have no unexcused absences and make up all excused absences;
+ be a good listener and a full participant (i.e., contribute actively to both small group and whole class work) in all classroom activities and/or be a regular participant on the threaded discussion board (i.e., minimum 3 contributions weekly);
+ contact DK (828-262-6074) before class if you are unable to attend;
+ focus your discussions and questions on learning to teach, not on your course grade;
+ dress and behave appropriately during practicum.
In essence, you will behave more and more like a teacher and a colleague, and less and less like an undergraduate student.

B or C (21-26 pts.)
You fall short on 1-2 of the above criteria 1-2 times during the semester.

D or F (0-20 pts.)

You fall short on more than 2 of the above criteria more than 2 times during the semester. If this occurs, you will need to meet individually with me to discuss your future options in elementary education.
