Community of Practice Rubric

18-20 pts.
As a fully participating member of our professional community of practice, you will regularly contribute to our ability to collaborate, learn, and learn how to learn. You will be on time to class with all of your materials. You will be a good listener and a full participant in all classroom activities. You will contact me before class if you are unable to attend or think you'll be late. You will focus your discussions and questions on learning to conduct action research, not on your course grade. You will behave more like a teacher and a colleague and less like a student.

15-17 pts.
You fall short on 1-2 of the above criteria 1-2 times during the semester. Electronic device use (e.g., cellphone, Blackberry, etc.) in class will result in a 5-point deduction the first time it occurs, regardless of the degree to which you otherwise meet the criteria for 18-20 pts. above.

0-14 pts.
You fall short on more than 2 of the above criteria more than 2 times during the semester. Electronic device use the second time it occurs will result in an additional 10-pt. deduction.
